Another October of an odd year is arriving, which means it is a PPI Transport Symposium year. How can this be? It seems just like yesterday that we were all together in Liverpool!
I would like to personally invite anyone who cares about the excellence in their products’ logistics, about being updated, or about your clients to be in Amsterdam from October 11th – 14th.
This is not only the time to have meetings with everyone at the same place, to see the old friends and make new business connections, but most of all, it is the time to discuss our logistics expectations, our experiences, our restrictions.
It is the time to hear the news from around the industry. It is the time to share your thoughts about moving forward. It is the time to learn!!
Last year during the IFPTA’s 2nd South American Regional Seminar in Sao Paulo, we were able to do this type of sharing and talk about some of the logistics problems facing South America. By the end of the second day everyone was on the same page and aware of what the pulp and paper producers needed from their logistics providers.
Did it solve all of our problems? No, it certainly did not. But it did change our relationships with suppliers and our competitors.
I believe it changed for the best. Mainly because now everyone has a better understanding of the logistics restrictions, challenges and expectations that were exposed during the seminar. This is what a good communication does!
There is an amazing line-up of sessions and speakers planned for the Symposium this October. There are too many great names to mention them all here, but we have Scanfiber, European Shipper’s Council, Tembec Industries, International Forest Products Corporation, Sappi Fine Paper Europe, Fibrek, and Altri confirmed for some of the panel discussions.
Plus, we have 2 new sessions hosted by CEPI that will review some of the sustainability efforts and policies that are impacting the industry.
All in all it is going to be a great program – full of topics that I know are going to help me be more successful in my job at Grupo Orsa. I’m confident they will do the same for you.
Please accept my invitation to join me in Amsterdam with an open mind. Let’s plan to share our ideas and challenges with each other. Let’s ask questions of the panelists and reflect on how our industry can move forward.
Let’s make Amsterdam unlike any other PPI Transport Symposium.
I look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam!
