AF&PA July 2011 statistics on paper and packaging released

AF&PA JULY 2011 U.S. CONTAINERBOARD REPORT
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Forest & Paper Association released its July 2011 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report. Containerboard production rose 4.6% when compared to June 2011, and the month over month average daily production was up 1.2%. The containerboard operating rate for July 2011 was down slightly, 0.6 point over July 2010 to 98.1% but it gained 1.2 points over June’s operating rate.
Additional key findings from the report include:
- Linerboard production posted a gain over last year.
- Medium also showed an increase over June 2011.
JULY 2011 KRAFT PAPER SECTOR REPORT
WASHINGTON D.C. -- The American Forest & Paper Association released its July 2011 Kraft Paper Sector Report. Total Kraft paper shipments were 132.5 thousand tons, an increase of 0.1% compared to July 2010. Total inventory was 69.3 thousand tons.
Additional key findings from the report include:
- Total Unbleached Kraft shipments decreased compared to July 2010, however year-to-date shipments were up compared to the same seven months last year.
- Total Bleached Kraft shipments were up compared to the same month last year.
JULY 2011 BOXBOARD REPORT
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Forest & Paper Association released its July 2011 U.S. Paperboard Report. Total boxboard production decreased by 1.3% compared to July 2010, but increased 1.5% from last month.
- Unbleached Kraft Folding production decreased over the same month last year, but increased from last month.
- Total Solid Bleached Boxboard & Liner production decreased compared to July 2010, but increased from last month.
- The production of Recycled Folding decreased compared to July 2010, but increased when compared to last month.
- Inventory of Solid Bleached Kraft Paperboard increased in June.
