Buddy Greene appointed IFPTA President

A member since 1983, Greene looks forward to continuing to improve the Association.

New York, New York, July 6, 2010 (Press Release) - The International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA) today announced Buddy Greene has been appointed president of the Association.  Greene was nominated for the office during the Spring IFPTA Board of Directors Meeting and confirmed by a unanimous vote.  Greene becomes the third president to serve the Association since its founding in 1982.

“It is an honor to be appointed president of the IFPTA,” said Greene.  “The officers and directors are continuously working to improve the Association and I look forward to helping the IFPTA succeed for all of our members.”

Greene joined the IFPTA as a member in 1983.  He was elected to the Board of Directors in 1989 and served on the Board until 1997 when he was appointed to serve as vice president.  Greene is the vice president of Cooper/T. Smith, a forest products stevedoring company headquartered in Mobile, Alabama.

“I am very proud of the current Board of Directors in place,” said Greene.  “In the 25 years I’ve been involved with the Association, this is one of the best and most involved Board I have known.  I am excited about the work ahead and am happy to serve as the president.”
