Sjuul Paradijs, Editor of De Telegraaf, to Deliver Keynote at PPI Transport Symposium 19

Paradijs Joins Impressive Line-up of Industry Experts Confirmed for the Amsterdam Event

BRUSSELS, May 9, 2011- RISI and the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA) today announced that Sjuul Paradijs, Editor in Chief of De Telegraaf, would deliver the keynote address as part of the PPI Transport Symposium 19 conference program.  The conference program, to be held October 11-14, 2011 in Amsterdam, titled “Growth and Sustainability:  Meeting the Challenges of the Forest Products Industry” will feature Paradijs and other industry experts talking about how companies can continue to improve their position and achieve breakthroughs.

“We are very pleased to include Sjuul Paradijs as the keynote speaker for the PPI Transport Symposium 19 program,” said Buddy Greene, IFPTA President.  “This is an excellent opportunity for us, as an industry, to hear new ideas and approaches, and to challenge ourselves for the future.”

Described as "fanatical about newspapers" and "one of the most powerful people in Dutch media," Paradijs is the editor–in–chief of De Telegraaf, the largest Dutch morning newspaper. Since taking the leadership in 2009, Paradijs has transformed the perception of De Telegraaf, raising the public profile of the 2.5 million–reader daily. Prior to joining De Telegraaf, Paradijs was the parliamentary editor at The Hague and worked for The Financial Times.

The PPI TS19 conference program will address the challenges and opportunities for the forest products logistics industry as it prepares to emerge from the global recession.  Conference sessions will include an industry outlook and forecast, a panel of global paper and pulp producers, and a discussion on the potential from biomass & biofuels. In addition, the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) will organize two (2) sessions on transportation and sustainability issues as part of the event.
